Fitch Affirms FOCUS Learning Academy, Inc. (TX) at 'BBB-'; Outlook Stable

NEW YORK, Apr 27, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fitch Ratings affirms the 'BBB-' rating on $8.835 million education revenue bonds and $625,000 taxable education revenue bonds issued by the Beasley Higher Education Finance Corporation on behalf of FOCUS Learning Academy (FOCUS, or the academy).

The Rating Outlook is Stable.

SECURITY

The bonds are secured by a pledge of the academy's gross revenues, a cash funded debt service reserve and a mortgage on the property and facilities.

KEY RATING DRIVERS

STABLE CREDIT CHARACTERISTICS: The 'BBB-' rating reflects FOCUS' historically positive operating results, manageable debt burden, 14-year operating history, and niche academic programs for 'learning different' students.

STANDARD CHARTER SCHOOL RISKS: The academy's credit profile reflects risks associated with the charter school sector - lack of revenue diversity, charter renewal risk and limited balance sheet flexibility.
