Efficiency was also a priority.

Designed with large-paned windows and glass doors, natural light pours into each office.

He says, "Employees in Maine deserve a work environment where they can feel good, their mental health can be strong and they can be productive."

This building is only part of the bank's 4.6 acre corporate headquarters.

Currently under construction are a second larger building plus a parking garage, right next door to make way for employee growth.

Montgomery-Rice says, "Between the two buildings we can get to a little over 500 and we think over the next three to five years we will be there."

With the community in mind, the whole campus will be pedestrian friendly.

He says, "We wanted it to feel like it's still part of the community. So, there are going to be walking paths, benches, trees, shrubs and the community can use it.
